Mouth Dissolving Turmeric-Pterocarpus Lozenge

Each soft gelatin Lozenge contains: :-

Curcuma longa 100 mg
Pterocarpus marsupium extract 25 mg

Curcuma longa

Bioactive curcumin made from the purest form of unadulterated Turmeric (Curcuma longa) extract, incorporated in an easy to absorb form.

Curcuma longa has over 200 bioactive substances including Curcumin and related substances (Curcuminoids) besides turmeric oleoresins. EXELTUR PD captures all these bioactives. The low temperature extraction of turmeric preserves all the beneficial bioactives.

Easy to consume Exeltur PD lozenges are manufactured using Quicksorb Hydrogel Technology, which allows the gel to dissolve slowly in the mouth (buccal cavity). The buccal absorption bypasses the gastro-intestinal tract entierly and avoids First pass metabolism.

Curcumin is fat-soluble. It gets metabolised in intestine and then passes through the first pass metabolism in the liver and the serum levels attained are negligible. Hence frequent large doses are required for meaningful action. You find metabolites of curcumin in the serum and not curcumin.

Thus this smallquantityof Turmeric could deliver therapeutic levels of curcumin. The absorption curve demonstrates that higher bioavailability is achieved with buccal lozenge, when the GI tract is bypassed.

The curcuminoid plasma concentration (serum level) obtained with our lozenge containing 100mg of turmeric extract was 189 ng/ml. Where as 450mg of regular curcumin gave 20ng/ml. So the serum levels obtained with the Hydrogel liposomal curcumin is 930% more than plain curcumin.

Pterocarpus marsupium (Vijayasar)

The heartwood and bark of this tree has been extensively used in the treatment of diabetes for thousands of years. The major active principles include Pterostilbene, Marsuposide, Marsupin, Pteroside, and Epicatechin etc.

Marsupsin and Pterostilbene, like oral hypoglycemic agents, have effects on several tissues by suppressing hepatic gluconeogenesis, stimulating glycolysis, inhibiting glucose absorption from the intestine, or acting by other mechanisms.

A recent therapeutic strategy to control diabetes is the inhibition of SODIUM GLUCOSE LINKED TRANSPORTER 2 (SGLT2).

SGLT2 catalyses the active transport of glucose into the blood stream from the proximal tubule of the nephron and plays a key role in reabsorption of glucose in the kidney. High blood glucose levels in Type 2 diabetes patients leads to saturation of SGLT2 receptors which in turn results in increased glucose in the urine.

Blockade of SGLT2 prevents reabsorption of glucose from the urine thus increasing urinary excretion of glucose resulting in reduced plasma glucose levels.

Pterostilbene a C-glycoside from Pterocarpus marsupium is a safe and effective SGLT2 inhibitor. Prevents the kidneys from reabsorbing glucose back into the blood.
P. marsupium has antioxidant properties. It is also a β cell protective and regenrative.

is an Anti-inflammatory, Antioxidant Antidiabetic

  • By inhibiting IL1- β expression and TNF-α production –
  • Brings down Fasting Plasma Glucose
  • Reduces Oxidative stress and systemic inflammation
  • Reverses β cell dysfunction and
  • Improves Insulin secretion

Indications:

Control and Correction of Prediabetes

Presentation:

Strips of 10 Lozenges each

Exeltur PD is orange flavoured

Dose: 1 lozenge twice daily before major meals. The lozenge is to be sucked on slowly till it dissolves completely. Do not chew the lozenge. It has to be in the mouth for at least 5 minutes this ensures that the active priciples are absorbed from the buccal cavity itself.

Exeltur PD is sugar free and does not cause gastric irritation (unlike Metformin)
EXELTUR PD prevents transition form Prediabetes to Type 2 Diabetes
